Below is the bulletin points from a suggestion I made on discord about improvements for the painting room. Please upvote if you'd like! IMPORTANT •remove "tracing" feature, it's mostly used by trolls who greif people into painting on their own canvas/model •add the ability to export painted models (and canvas) all we can do is take low quality screenshots •we need the ability to have multiple of the same models/canvases. The artists are revolting, drawing torches and pitch forks... 🤣 An idea I've had is to give us a sketchbook we can store whatever we want in and then rip pages out to draw on (maybe with a pencil) or pull out the models stored in it. •we need a pixel pen! A pen that only applies one pixel, preferably more accurate to the tip of the pen. Additionally a 2x2 pixel pen, and a 5x1 pixel wedge pen would be nice. •offline rooms! One of the most annoying things is getting kicked when you are having connection issues, and being crowded when you just want to get some work done. The ability to work offline would be nice. Additionally, while in an offline room you could invite people to join it turning it into an online private room. •give us a color picker and more colors. The 256 in use right now seems weird, as if they are saturation scales pulled from models and not an actual 256. It would be nice to see a larger range and saturation of colors, and a color picker would be a nice addition. As well as a few extra pallets like the current one we can play with, and the ability to make our own pallet of colors from the color picker. Having the hex names of the colors somewhere would be helpful as well. COOL •more models! We want all the game resources, not just the heros and enemies, give us the terrain, the giant canvas, busts like the elf on the shelf, our masks and dice, sketch books, comic books, toy swords, plushies, all the things. I'm not sure why these models we created instead of just using the in game resources, but it would be nice to have the higher detailed models to work with. •more brushes. Particularly with the idea of giving different texture effects. Such as a dry brush that is stiff and can be used to add a random stippling pattern or brushed around to give a straight and jagged effect. •a crafting table to get models and canvases from. Maybe store modeling tools with (if we got to kit bash models or build them) •whitelisting friends who can draw one or trace on your models. Another mush discussed feature would be how fun it would be to draw on the same models, friends could help each other out. We like the tracing feature, but not when anyone can do it. One way to implement this is anyone who isn't blocked could request to interact with your chair, you could then decline or select if they can trace or draw or then kick said player, potentially an option to erase anything they did. Perhaps this should be in the difficult section now that I think about it. •chair upgrades... these folding chairs are starting to hurt my ghost booty. •rattle can, spray paint... nice chunky fogger bois. •paint pots, nothing screams realistic like accidentally knocking over one of those suckers. •spray gun pressure by how hard you squeeze the trigger. DIFFICULT these are features we understand may be difficult to implement due to compatibility limitations or having to add new coding, but would be amazing. •expanded rooms/table. Or some way to show off your art at least when the table is full. •wet blend pallet. The ability to blend colors on a pallet to pull shades and scales of colors from. This may be tricky as I've explained to people as the code needs a way to know what colors are made from x and y color. •opacity, particularly with the spray gun, this seems like it would be very difficult to implement, though it is highly requested by the artists. Having used a spray gun a lot, it was very weird using that the first time in VR. Don't know what I was expecting. 😄 •smudge tool, some way to smudge and blend colors on the model, smoothing out textures and fades. •shader tool, a painting tool (or paint pots) that acts like shading paints, both darkening and tinting over existing paints. Or the inverse of lighting and tinting. •Modeling kits. Kit bashing. We'd love to build our models. Take them apart. Accessorize them with weapons and equipment and limb variants. Make monstrosities by mixing and matching bits from othe models. An amazing feature that would be on the cutting edge of this hobby. Give us fun tools to work with, glue and hobby razors, putty filler, snips, sprues. This is where this room could really shine.
